I am reluctant to do this since all the data is US, and it is all decaying. But, a lot of it is automatic and takes a while to run down. And it doesn't really matter, since everybody is convinced they will boil to death.
This is the world chart. I use ocean surface temperatures, because they are more stable and average the day and night temps. But all the land charts are going down too.
The North Atlantic still has residual heat from last year, and is now dipping below that record, which was caused by a huge heating event in the Pacific. I still can't get my mind around it, especially the mechanism. But we don't talk about mechanisms in the popular press.
The subpolar North Atlantic is finally taking a big dive. That area is totally controlled by the Gulf Stream heat energy transfer.
And this is the nino zone, the thermal regulator of the whole planet. The 'makeituppers' still like to scare us with 'Le Nina will get you', but all those cycles are dead.
The big map of sea temperature has stayed the same for years now. It would be a great exercise to look at the changes since 2016, but nobody does that. Suffice to say that this is important.
Physics dictates that things cascade from higher energy to lower energy density. The tail does not wag the dog. But that is totally different from the groupthink. I will never say they are wrong, but I just like looking at the physics. I am always right and will always be right, but at a 'glacial' pace. Since I can't imagine it getting any worse, I have called a 'Major Ice Cycle'. I'm not saying what that means.
The latest big party for the makeituppers is saying that we've lost all control over carbon in the atmosphere, and we have to stop that. Hello? It's getting colder and we are burning things to stay warm. We will keep burning more and more as it gets colder, and they will say this makes us warmer and warmer. You would think something would collide, but no, we can do this forever.
We have a nice time now where climate change is no longer supported by warmth. They can't find any. Instead we get the crap that hurricanes will happen 700 times more often. Ha, wasn't much of a hurricane year, but the couple we got had great press.
This year we will have a horrendous winter, worse than last year, which was called a 'blip'. Now we will have continuous blips. Total impact can be measured by snow-clearing costs.
