State of the Oceans - Nov 11, 2025

 Now that we've had our coldest weather in 50 years, it's time to see if we'll warm up enough to dig out the rest of the leeks.  In reality, we can't predict to a fine detail, because there is no physics in all of this.  Had we been stringent about the Scientific Method, and the Laws of Physics, we would know where we are.

Here is our life.  We are affected by the heat energy in the surrounding oceans.  Remember that the atmosphere holds thousands of times less heat energy than the oceans, but it is 'El Supremo' to the weather people.  I say that the oceans wag the tail of the weather.

You can't see it here in a single picture, but the Gulf Stream is descending again, leaving the UK in the cold.

The Pacific is the main heat engine of the world, but it is shut down for maintenance.  Probably will start up when the Ottawa LRT works again.

We still have lots of summer heat left north of the equator, but that is a Tesla battery running down in a snowstorm.  Can you find a charger that doesn't have the cable cut?  That was our hotel this weekend.

Now, only read further if you believe in heat fairies.  This is our world map of heat energy, and it is going down.  At one time the influencers used this chart, but they won't be caught dead with loser charts any more.

This is the chart that shows the Gulf Stream is leaving town, and going to Sunny Spain for a holiday.  There was a media article:

I won't read it, but it is an interesting question.  It's the ocean currents bringing up heat energy from the equatorial belt.  Soon to be a thing of the past.  All the old patterns are gone.

The hurricane belt is diving, and this is a measure of the heat energy for the entire Atlantic.  Ask our buddy, who is in the Azores right now.

The Gulf of Maine is our 'averaging' thermometer for N Am and is a good indicator of heat energy.  Snowball fight in Central Park!  

Finally, the most important indicator for the world is the Nino Zone.  They are trying to make a La Nina out of this sad puppy.  No more old cycles here, we are in a new cold world.  But it's best for your sanity if you don't go along with this.

In fact, the truth in terms of the Scientific Method shows that it best to go with Influencer Science.  In the old days they used to call this Quackery, but it is popular and makes people happy.  I will go down to say that at the moment, according to Quackery, I see no more cold blobs coming down on us. I have some carbon reducing hair oil for sale.
