Starlink still not for the cottage

The Canadian cottage, or summer hut, is defined by trees, lots of them everywhere.  And the starlink frequency is blocked by a single leaf.  Then there is the rugged topography that makes the setting beautiful, but starry can't take that.

In the end, you can get it to work, but there are large time gaps.  You can't play games or video conference anybody.  It only works in the middle of the Patagonian Desert, and who wants to move there for internet?

I have great hope that they will get 700mhz working next year.  Then we're talking!  That stuff goes right through trees, and rolls over topography.

  1. I'm in the middle of a forest and it works for me. Teams, zoom, tv streaming etc Mind you I do have a cleared area around the building for >>fire prevention<< and have put the dish on the roof, but even just dumping it on the ground was good.
