Now, there is the Hawaii sea-mount chain going right for the point. I never noticed that before, nor have I read about it, when I was doing plate tectonics. It's an amazing coincidence -- NOT!
No, the seamounts are a perforation in the plate, like getting a bill in the mail - tear off here. That subduction zone is consuming the plate, which is running away -- Help! It glides over the Hawaii hot spot.
To understand this, press the beachball with two thumbs, and hold a fine knife in your mouth to score a line along the sea mounts. You'll get a fold. Yeah! Or a deflated beachball. That point is caused by the fold, and/or follows it.
This can all be measured, but there is no money to save 50 million people. Sad, at least trumpy gets his ballroom. The fold or crease may delay the next big earthquake on the other side, since it softens the plate.
We shall call this discovery "The Geofish Dimple".
ps all of this could be confirmed by all the satellites put up to selectively view things that 'confirm' climate change. If the whole thing blows, we shall add this to the tally of wasted effort.
