Zoom physics 4 - phase change

At the end I got confused between release and absorption of heat energy.  Condensation releases a lot of heat energy.  For our air conditioning we have the 'condenser' outside (hot), and the evaporator inside absorbing heat (cold).

  1. Okay so...
I had to watch this one a few times, because this is kind of a different way of thinking about things.

When you talked about heat energy in evaporation is this the reason that AGW questioners state that water vapour is a "green house gas" example it has lots of heat energy.
It seems to me it is.

I'm going to watch one more time still..
It's a different way of thinking about this stuff!
    But, I'm enjoying it :)

  2. No. All the energy is taken up at the phase change. So, if the water vapour condenses into droplets, that's a lot of heat energy released. The phase change of water is what keeps us alive, and makes co2 irreverent. Venus is not a water planet.
