Deep Ecuador Earthquake - blah, blah

Ok, at first glance an M6.9 at Ecuador has a chance of being newsworthy. Maybe a shallow earthquake right by Quito? I've been there, and an earthquake would not be pleasant. But, no, this is a very deep earthquake in the middle of nowhere. Next , please.... :)

Nice! I live here, about 150 miles from the center, and it shook my house hard for 20 seconds. Yes, it is deep in the earth, but it was felt in Peru, Colombia and Venezuela. Imagine how it must have been to the epicenter area! It is a remote area, likely without much means of communication. SO we don't know yet if there are injuries and how many are truly affected. Next!!

The 'official' reports have stated that not much damage is expected. But they are so boring...

Who knows? Maybe some landslide on the verge has let go.
