Pickering Unit 8 Now Down for Over 1 Week

As I mentioned earlier, if it was down for more than a week, it's probably the sinking transformer, since most anything in the switchyard can be fixed quickly. We cannot expect any clarity from these guys themselves, since they are bound by commercial secrecy. Up to a point! :)

If it is the transformer, we can expect it to be down for several months, provided they have a spare, ready to go. If it turns on tomorrow, forget I said anything. :)

That's a neat chart. Reuters had u8 down, and there never was a news clip saying it went back up. Go figure. I always assume the worst, just for fun...

It updates hourly and there's historical charts if you click on the name of the generator unit. Interesting to follow the wind output...
