They make highways like that here in Oz: dump a load of stiff cement straight on the ground, then drive a big thing bristling with shutters over the top of it.They're truly horribly roads: noisy, bumpy, lethal in the rain, and to fix them they have to slice a big section out and fill it with asphalt anyway...
Wow! And kangaroos on top of that!
Most of those major highways have roo fences. Some of them possum bridges too ;)
Well, if we must trade driving indignities, then today I'm getting ready for winter. I put away the lawnmower, and readied the snowblower! I've put on ice-tires for the van because I regularly take it to horrible places such as Montreal and Ottawa!
OK, you win. Unless I can trump you with toll roads...
